At Newport School we welcome students from the age of 12 months. In addition, we have Little Skills, a special Early Stimulation programme for babies from 4 to 18 months.
We look forward to welcoming your child to our school community!
Our educational approach aims for students to become fluent in at least two languages simultaneously and in a multicultural context. Students are fully immersed in English for most of the day. They also strengthen their Spanish and learn a third language from Stage 6 to Stage 9: French. The process also focuses on the development of the four main language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, but with a special focus on listening and speaking at the beginning, and later on reading and writing. Our students have the opportunity to learn about and value other cultures, whether through extracurricular activities, traditional festivals, international projects or teamwork with peers from different countries respecting diverse customs, values and norms.
At Newport School, we offer more than half of the academic timetable in English. The subjects offered in English are Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, ICT (Information Communication and Technology), and ELA (English, Literature and Arts).
The hours at Newport School for our students are: Monday through Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. or 4:15 p.m. for those attending extracurricular activities, and Fridays from 7:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. or 3:45 p.m. if participating in extracurricular activities.
In our preschool, each classroom is staffed by a head teacher and an assistant teacher. In addition, we have an interdisciplinary team of professionals made up of a nurse, psychologist, speech therapist, physiotherapist, nutritionist and occupational therapist, experts who are always ready to support the activities that require more supervision.
We do not leave homework as such, but we do have a ‘Home Learning’ system which takes place twice a week, one day for Spanish and one day for project work, which allows parents to be involved in their children’s learning processes.
We are a school of the international Cognita chain recognised for its academic excellence and the national Redcol chain, whose schools have been part of the lists of the best results in the state tests of our country.
With our innovative Project Based Learning (PBL) methodology, students learn through project-based learning, enabling them to develop the skills they need to be global citizens. During the process, our students understand the phases of a project such as: problem identification and delimitation, research, design and development of prototypes, implementation and evaluation. This process promotes a positive attitude towards learning, improves their work routines and with others, their self-esteem and their motivation towards learning. Furthermore, this methodology allows students to learn about different areas of knowledge in an integrated way and in real contexts of application.
In pre-school we developed the HighScope curriculum. A curriculum that fosters primary school readiness with an approach characterised by children’s participatory and active learning. Through this experience our students work through a process of planning, implementing and reviewing their homework under the principles of positive adult-child interactions, a friendly learning environment, a consistent daily routine and team assessment.

Our service includes lunch boxes and lunches in our monthly rates, which are of the highest quality and health standards, as well as being healthy and adapted to the nutritional needs of each age group.
We have a robust programme of multiple activities framed in the philosophy of ‘Learn and Play’, through which we encourage the artistic, sporting and academic development of our students, becoming the niches for competition with other schools.
We have a nurse at each site, in a space equipped for the attention and care of our students, who has a reporting system with parents in case of any eventuality. We also offer additional medical insurance to guarantee care and safe transport in case of emergency.
