Our educational approach aims for students to become fluent in at least two languages simultaneously and in a multicultural context. Students are fully immersed in English for most of the day. They also strengthen their Spanish and learn a third language from Stage 6 to Stage 9: French. The process also focuses on the development of the four main language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, but with a special focus on listening and speaking at the beginning, and later on reading and writing. Our students have the opportunity to learn about and value other cultures, whether through extracurricular activities, traditional festivals, international projects or teamwork with peers from different countries respecting diverse customs, values and norms.

At Newport School, we offer more than half of the academic timetable in English. The subjects offered in English are Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, ICT (Information Communication and Technology), and ELA (English, Literature and Arts).

With our innovative Project Based Learning (PBL) methodology, students learn through project-based learning, enabling them to develop the skills they need to be global citizens. During the process, our students understand the phases of a project such as: problem identification and delimitation, research, design and development of prototypes, implementation and evaluation. This process promotes a positive attitude towards learning, improves their work routines and with others, their self-esteem and their motivation towards learning. Furthermore, this methodology allows students to learn about different areas of knowledge in an integrated way and in real contexts of application.
